Nice place with a fun atmosphere, great appetizers! Love the fried pickle slices, the jalapeno poppers, and potato skins. The short beer list has the right variety of good stuff.

Service and Good was above par for how busy they were. Couldn't believe our group of 12 were served in less than a half hour. Food was prepared perfectly and service was with a smile. Will definitely go back and will recommend to everyone. Thank you so much

Great atmosphere and friendly service. Ate here twice during our stay in Packwood. You'll see this place always has a packed parking lot and it's for good reason - you'll get great food here. Huge recs for onion rings and their ribeye steak - honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had and I have lived in Chicago half of my life.

The blue spruce saloon is a classic small town bar. The food is deep fried and the staff is kind and friendly. An interesting election of warm specialty cocktails and a variety of beer and wine selections make for a comfortable experience. Not usually crowded, the locals from both sides of the mountains come out strong for the Apple Cup. It's a warm woody cozy place to recover from a long drive or day out in the mountains.

The food is good compared to what you get in Packwood. We got a Fried Chicken and Chicken Burger, which were quite okay to eat. Be careful in the dark, as it might bother you listening about politics and local opinions on races.

Don’t judge this place by curb appeal. We weren’t starving so my family is usually very picky at that point. The food was REALLY good and the service was timely with a smile. We had the Mushroom Swiss Burger (add bacon), Bacon Cheeseburger, Crispy Chicken Ranch Wrap, and Chicken Fingers. Tots, steak fries, and beer battered fries were all excellent side choices. The beer was cold, priced right, and refills were timed well. Staff was masked if you’re looking for a Covid safe meal.

Great place good food friendly service

Honestly, How do I rate a saloon that's older than I am? Well the whole staff was great. The food was good, but what really makes this place special is memories that it brings back of when I was a kid. I honestly think that this saloon / diner that is one of those old buildings that is the heart and soul of Packwood. To some people it will be just a saloon but to some people it's part of their community.

Awesome burgers happened to make it on taco night need I say less great place to stop. And staff is awesome drinks are cold especially after hiking!

I am a bit biased towards country side diners 😁. This one in particular had a story to narrate through the framed pictures on the wall. Food was freshly prepared. Service was cool, furniture and sitting arrangements were nice too.

Fantastic food and great service. I came in for lunch around noon and was one of a handful of people. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and attentive. I had the 1/2 lb Spruce burger with beer battered fries and was very satisfied. The fries were crispy and perfectly cooked. The burger was juicy and had fantastic flavor.

Excellent service. Everyone, even customers smile and say hello. Taco Tuesday is still going strong after ... oh, 20 years or so.... that I know of.

They have some of the best burgers I've ever tasted!

The atmosphere is that of a typical bar & grill. Other food establishments in town were closed and management should have had more wait staff on shift because it was quite busy. Menu had a fair amount of choices for all palates. Grandkids tried the Mac & Cheese which was a nice portion served with Tater Tots. My wife and I shared a Big Foot. It's an awesome burger.

Bar food. Bar atmosphere. We stopped in on taco night and the place was full! Food was good, although not a huge menu. Probablynot the best place for a family dinner but was great for a few cocktails and food. Staff was friendly and service was quick.

Excellent food. Don't be fooled by the outside or the name. It's an excellent place to eat and you can have a drink if you want.

Thanksgiving weekend at the local bar was hoppin. The bartender was friendly and kind enough she counted out 200 pull tabs for us during her rush. Had the Reuben and jalapeno burger. Good drinks.

Great dive bar with ambiance aligned well with Packwood. Don't expect a Seattle-esque gastropub, come for the laid back atmosphere, and you'll love your time at the spruce!

THIS PLACE WAS SO BOMB! They have a section for minors so you can bring your family, although it is still a bar, loud, fun, and excellent food. Im glad we made the decision to come here to eat instead of the Brewery

Spacious, fairly affordable, fairly kid-friendly, and with fast service. Plus an extremely satisfying Reuben.
